Today, officially, began the PKD Road Warriors USA media tour after completing the Press Conf. Coachmen RV hosted Wed. which went great for PKD awareness with 4 Indiana newspapers & CBS showing up! PKD was all over the papers & TV Thursday! I left Middlebury, IN today, via Hwy 80, through Chicago and the farm lands of eastern Illinois and Iowa & have made it 10 miles east of Iowa City, Iowa.

This morning I was a little nervous driving the new loaner RV due to its size but thought I will be comfortable with it by Calif.! Starting the engine without the fear of what may go wrong {like it was in the 16 yr. old RV} was truly a joy. Shortly, as I rolled down the highway I felt like I had driven it forever! Max, my Dalmatian, sitting proudly above the Coachmen logo, which matches him, drew many an eye! When they look @ Max they see the prominant graphics "PKD Road Warrior - Polycystic Kidney Research Foundation - 1-800-PKD-CURE & www.pkdcure.org!

Realizing the amount of PKD awareness our travels can raise made the extreme fatigue I was experiencing from PKD bareable! Upon arrival @ the KOA {whom has sponsored me with free nights} a large group of people saw Max & I pull in and asked what we did. As I always do I told them about PKD & our crusade. As I stood there talking to them a wonderful feeling of peace came over me -- knowing that Max and I deciding to undertake this crusade may really make a difference. Maybe by the end of this journey we CAN MAKE PKD A HOUSEHOLD NAME!

I'm watching the weather & it looks like I may drive right into a major storm tomorrow in Des Moines? We will see what the weather looks like in the am and take our chances since there are high profile warnings out. We are heading straight to the Bay Area of Calif, having to bypass Washington & Oregon due to the delays in getting the loaner RV & winter storms coming in. It will work out OK because we can work on gaining more media where there are millions & with the help of Pocketmail whom has sponsored my e-mail device making it possible to send these daily updates from my RV - via pay phones. Also, have several motorcycle magazines that are going to use my story. I'll update you in a later update since I am very tired from driving today. Hope all of you are well and know you are all in our thoughts as we roll down the highway for PKD awareness... Good night.
