Day 5 brought me to 2622.8 miles and into California!

This brings me to my first destination on the PKD Road Warrior media tour! I drove 458 miles from Winnemuca, NV through Reno, NV on into Tahoe, Ca area winding me through the rather impressive Sierra Mountains. Breath taking can not express the beauty of the Tahoe, CA area. The weather was picture perfect and with the exception of mtn. driving and hitting Sacramento, Ca @ rush hour we had a great drive. While sitting on the highways of Sacramento I did not get frustrated, rather, it was a great way to get PKD awareness. Think of how many people saw the graphics? Ha!

Leaving Sacramento heading south on Hwy 5 some creep decided to expose himself to me creating a major traffic jam. He kept driving along side me "doing his thing" ignoring that traffic was backing up for miles! Had to call 911 to report him which was ineresting since he had no license plates to report? Think maybe this guy does this on a reguular basis? That was the ultimate highlight of my journey. Finally, I yelled out the window that he was a creep waving, etc. -- embarrassing him in front of drivers behind me and he accelerated and went on down the road. Some people!

I arrived right at dark to my friend, Teresa's, with a great home cooked meal awaiting me. That was a treat after 9 hours on the road! I am parked on a side street to save money on RV parks since they are very expensive in this area... The PKD Road Warriors are running on real limited reserves...

Now that I have made it to the Bay Area of California I am doing follow up calls to all TV & newspapers that the PKD Foundation pitched my story to as I drove into town Wednesday -- letting them know the PKD Road Warriors had arrived! I won't be daily travel updates until I hit the road again beginning of Nov. when I head to Los Angeles. When I have news to report on media coverage, hopefully, we are able to get I will always update all of you. Wish us luck! Until next time remember to keep smiling and PKD won't win and get out there and get pledges!

Take care,

Cecilia Maida & Max
