Day 15 I awoke tired worrying I had a kidney infection building?

I was worried about everything! Sponsors, the PKD Foundation, the PKD patients all were counting on me to get media and I had just lost a major market!

Now I had no money and KOA had, graciously, extended my stay to 10/31 rescuing me. Where would I go on the 31st if I have to pay the gas too? I was going to starve and I was terrified. An old friend from childhood has located me and sent an e-mail. I was upset about all my worries and asked her to please pray that God would rescue the PKD Road Warriors campaign? Shortly, I got a reply and she said, "when a friend asks you so directly to pray for them, I don't think it should wait. I am at work and just stopped everything and asked God to help you my dear friend...' I was touched to tears. I had no seen her in 20 years but she stopped her day for an old friend in crisis! I replied to here e-mail and went on to the others.

To my amazement there were 3 messages from my gasoline sponsor apologizing for the delay! He was in his own crisis having to vacate his office and loss of staff, etc. Once I read his e-mail I felt guilty forever doubting him because he is a very kind man. In the back of my mind I knew he would not hurt my cause that way but my fears and poor health made me fear the worst! Now all the fears and worry are gone and I know that the PKD Road Warriors will survive! I sent him an e-mail and shared some e-mails of PKD people and that until I had not heard from him I did not realize how important his help was.

Without John of We-Host.com the PKD Road Warriors would be parked! So anyone out there that needs a place to "host a web site" please support them! Or, if you get a minute please send John an e-mail at {info@iwmi.com} and let him know how much we appreciate him. He is a hard worker and dedicated to his business and knows he would appreciate a few kind words! Thanks John & Kris {who is the man that created our driveathon.org site! Kris is @ {kris@iwmi.com} if you want to drop him a note. He is posting this update so hi and thanks Kris who is all the way in Japan helping all of us PKD patients!

I bet Kris is quickly becoming another PKD expert having built our site. If you have not gone to the "diagram" and arrowed over to where they talk about the "cysts causing the kidneys to enlarge" and seen the miraculous "growing kidney" it is a must! Really thanks We-Host.com because without you we could not provide hope to millions!

Back to brainstorming how to get the media interested! Saw KMBY Radio station advertised in the local paper where I used to work before my health went preventing me from working...and whom I had worked with when I owned my advertising company here in Santa Cruz. I called my old Sales Manager, Ed Monroe, and left a voicemail that the PKD Road Warriors were in town and wanted to say hi. Within minutes he returned my call. It was wonderful to hear his voice because he is a great guy and boss! Ed told me he had been thinking of me since a co-worker had been diagnosed with a kidney disease {not PKD}. We did a conference call and Ed was not surprised that I was undertaking the PKD Road Warrior campaign referring to me as a real go-getter.

I remembered Ed to always be free with words of praise and his comments helped boost my spirits. We talked and he offered to help my campaign and hopes to get me on a talk show next week and offered to help me get a public service announcement {PSA} done for radio media! Thanks Ed! Now, we have a hit to reach PKD people in the Santa Cruz/Monterey communities! Remembered back to asking BB King to do a PSA...knowing he can't now that I learned he is affiliated with Sickle Cell Anemia but... Maybe BB King will give permission to use one of his songs in the background of my radio PSA - making more appealing? Gotta call BB!
