Day 46 we are in Malibu, CA getting close to the end of our months stay here.
The Malibu Times article came out and everywhere I go people are reading it asking for my card, etc. so maybe we will find someone to help gain more publicity off this story.
Got a copy of the Friction-Zone motorcycle magazine and they gave us a full page and great article! Thanks Friction Zone and ride on!
Many calls and pitches have been made to Los Angeles print & TV media and I am awaiting a "yes" but a little nervous I may not obtain coverage in LA. All I can do is try...
Coachmen RV mailed me copies of 2 more articles in national publications "RV Trade Digest" and "RV Business". These came as a surprise since I never knew they would run them so looks like we are getting media in many places! Someone sent me an e-mail and said they saw me in "Easy Rider" which I will have to check out. If you see me in media not posted on my site please advise me so we will know that the PKD Road Warriors media tour is working!
Having landed in Malibu for Thanksgiving and not knowing many people mine was bittersweet. As I sat alone with no turkey dinner, loneliness took control but I got it in check remembering the purpose of my travels. Sacrifices must be made and being alone sometimes is part of it but we did enjoy a little beach time to pass away the blues.
After Thanksgiving my spirits improved and the weekend brought several new friends and fun times my way. Just a little delayed Thanksgiving celebration...
Many may remember the exercise man from the 60's & 70's, Jack la Lane? I met his son and wife and my Mom whom had exercised to him every day was so excited! A trip to the Santa Monica Pier found me on a ride on the roller coaster so now I have become a real tourist! Ha!
Visiting with a new friend at their home right on the beach in Malibu made up for having spent the holiday alone and brought happiness to the PKD Road Warriors.
A Lifetime network show has taken a little interest in my story and showed concern for my crusade and so I am saying a prayer they can help me reach many suffering with PKD via national TV! Maybe God is smiling down on the PKD Road Warriors -- they will say yes to helping us...
For the next week I plan to follow up on LA media and rest a little before the next leg of the road trip -- into San Diego, CA.
Until then remember to go out and get those pledges and lets get the money for our scientists and help them find our cure! It is up to us and together we can END PKD! Take care.
