Day 25 brings our total miles to 3108.9.

Media obtained in Northern Calif. was NBC-Santa Cruz County {spot to air Nov. 6} and they took my Public Service Commercial {PSA} and will continue to air it when I leave the area! My efforts with San Francisco/San Jose were disappointing but with the Presidential Election coverage I was happy to get any coverage for PKD. There is still a possibility of getting a story in the Santa Cruz Good Times so I'll keep you updated.

Max and I departed the Santa Cruz, Ca area and headed for Ventura, CA to meet with the Editor of Friction Zone - California based - Motorcycle magazine {20,000+ circulation} for an interview.

It was a picture perfect day depicting "Indian Summer" at its best! I was sad to leave all my friends behind but had some nice visits creating new memories to sustain me on the road. Our drive was uneventful, just beautiful scenery and a few high winds in some canyons until right before Ventura when I noticed a creepy guy had been on my tail for some time. I exited to go to the RV Park and he followed so I had to notify security to watch out for his car.

I set up and proceeded to get all ready for my 5:00am interview with Friction Zone. Waking up @ such an early hour I cleaned up the motorcycle to get ready for the photo shoot. All was quiet and no creepy people bothered me so the day was off to a great start!

The interview went well and I was surprised when they arrived with their current issue and showed that they had already printed John Guarino, the PKD Friend's Coordinator of Connecticut's e-mail and mine too. John had taken the time to go online and contact all motorcycle magazines so the interview was thanks to him! Not only was PKD discussed in their Nov. issue, now, we will have a feature story in their Dec. issue available Nov. 20th. Friction Zone also provided a potential contact with the Los Angeles Times so they are going out of their way to help me reach people suffering with PKD!

Every time this happens I realize that my PKD Road Warriors crusade can make a difference thanks to people like Friction Zone! So please, if you are in California pick up a copy & thanks John for making it possible!

A little tired I handled all my PKD e-mails and watched the weather preparing to head into Malibu, CA - only 1 hour away. High winds, up to 60mph, were predicted early afternoon so we rushed and got on the road! Driving the Pacific Coast Highway the scenery was, once again, magnificent! We arrived safely and the manager Of the Malibu RV Park, Joe, was wonderful helping me disconnect my tow vehicle and park the RV! The winds held off but when they came -- you knew they were there!

The Coachmen RV has jacks so high winds are not as scary as in the older 1984 RV. The new loaner RV was like a rock sitting amongst a hurricane! My mail was waiting on me and I was happy to see the Escapee's RV Magazine that had a write up I submitted in their Nov./Dec issue! Got another one!

Max and I settled in for a good night's sleep - desperately needed. We have high hopes for gaining media attention in the Los Angeles area and interest in a "made-for-TV" movie so tomorrow we will get organized and see what can be done during our month stay in Malibu. Wish us luck!
