Day 122

Day 122 we are still in San Diego, CA preparing for the big cross-country leg of our journey!

I am happy to say that since our last update I am feeling much better & getting stronger every day! Had surgery on teeth and after my follow-up appt. Feb. 16th we should be good to go! Our anticipated departure date is Feb. 19th. My travel itinerary {through end of March} is revised as follows:

We will stop in San Bernardino {Feb. 19-20} for interview with paper; then on to Palm Springs {Feb 21-23}; Phoenix, AZ {Feb 23 - March 3}; Tucson, AZ {March 4-6}; El Paso, TX {March 8-9}; San Antontio, TX {March 12-14}; Houston, TX {March 17-25} and Austin, TX March 26 - March 31.

Please keep in mind that even these dates can vary depending on interest from media in each city... I have not posted any dates further out since it is hard to predict "exact dates" since things change on the road... I will be sending a revised travel itinerary to the webmaster of my site and hope they can update the site so you will know of revised dates. Many are contacting me thinking I will be there next week but with delay all dates are off on the web site.

Since our last update Max has become the star of our media! On Feb. 7th an article in an international newspaper column called "The Bond" by Dr. Marty Becker {Veterinarian & Correspondent for Good Morning America} hit the news wire so keep an eye out for it in your local papers! It could go to up to 600 newspapers in the world after being picked up off the wire... Dr. Becker is also interviewing us for his upcoming book "The Healing Power of Pets" so more media to come!

Even though Max & I have been delayed hitting the road we will be able to still capture media in important cities so not all is lost. As of my Feb 13th report to sponsors I was happy to report that with the recent article "The Bond" which can reach 10-12 million our potential exposure gained for PKD is now up to 20,877,710! With the recent article in the PKD "Progress Newsletter" many of the Friend's Groups are calling trying to help gain media in cities on my tour! Even the Girl Scouts Troop in Tucson s offering help!

Thanks to all of you who expressed concern and encouragement during my recent health crisis. Knowing so many people care truly does help Max & I gain the strength & courage to continue on with the PKD Road Warrior campaign! So remember to get out there and get those pledges for "every mile I drive" to make each mile we drive help get us closer to ENDING PKD FOREVER!

Until we meet on the road I hope all of you will stay strong and continue to have hope knowing the cure is close at hand! We just have to help raise the money to obtain it -- so lets get busy!
