Handheld PC’s that won’t break the bank

PocketMail’s Composer is a beauty when it comes to sending and receiving e-Mail while on the go. The PocketMail is able to be connected to the handset of virtually and landline or mobile phone, which means you don’t need to fiddle with cables to get your e-Mail – just pick up the handset, dial the 1300 number and press the e-Mail button.
Its large screen makes composing and reading e-Mails easy, and the built-in keyboard is simple, yet effective. Attachments can’t be read, but they are stored on a personalised My PocketMail Web site, which lets you download the attachments to your PC. You can also send SMS messages at 20c each and faxes at 50c each, but you can’t receive them. The personal organiser functions, while basic, are quite adequate, and can be synchronised with your PC. No extra software can be downloaded from the Web, nor can Web pages be stored on it.
In short, the PocketMail excels at keeping you connected via e-Mail wherever you are. A monthly fee of $25 is required for unlimited e-Mail use, with monthly plans payable by credit card available to lower that fee if a yearly package is purchased. While this is similar in cost to a standard ISP connection, owning a PocketMail and paying the monthly fee is much more cost effective than buying a notebook computer, if your primary aim is to stay connected by e-Mail.
